Boondi Raita

Raita is a cool, refreshing, and healthy side dish that is can be served with virtually any Indian meal.  Boondi Raita includes small balls of gram flour that add more taste and texture to the yogurt based dish.


  • 1 cup boondi
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups plain dahi (yogurt)
  • 1/2 tsp namak (salt) (according to taste)

    Boondi after having been soaked in water for 20 minutes
  • 1/2 tsp jeera (cumin) powder


  1. Soak the boondi in two cups of water for approx. 20 minutes
  2. Add yogurt, cumin, and salt. Mix well
  3. Add water and stir
